Acorn and Twig Arborists

Your trusted partner for tree care

Our approach to Arboriculture

At Acorn & Twig Arborists, we see ourselves as partners in the health of your trees. Our approach goes beyond simple tree trimming; we are dedicated to the biological well-being and long-term vitality of every tree we care for. We believe that a deep understanding of tree biology and local ecosystems is the foundation of exceptional arboriculture.

We begin every project with a comprehensive assessment of your trees and their environment. By analyzing factors like species, age, growth patterns, and signs of stress or disease, we develop a customized care plan. Our methods prioritize minimal intervention and maximum benefit, focusing on pruning techniques that encourage natural growth and sustainable treatments that support the tree's own defense mechanisms.

Our commitment to a biology-first approach ensures that we don't just solve immediate problems—we cultivate a healthier, more resilient future for your trees and the landscapes they inhabit.

Urban and natural forests both have distinct and unique needs

Our team consists of ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborists. This is not just a title; it signifies that we have met rigorous standards of knowledge and experience in tree biology, maintenance, and safety through comprehensive examinations. This continuous education ensures we are up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices.

Our Services

Pruning

Tree pruning is the selective removal of branches from a tree for a variety of purposes. It involves strategically cutting away dead, diseased, damaged, or weakly attached branches to improve the tree's overall well-being. This process, when done correctly, helps a tree to compartmentalize and seal its wounds, preventing decay and the spread of pests and diseases.

Cabling and Lightning Protection

Tree cabling is a technique used by arborists to provide supplemental support to a tree's structure. Flexible steel cables are installed high in the canopy, connecting weak or compromised limbs to stronger ones.

A lightning protection system (LPS) for trees is designed to protect a tree from a lightning strike by providing a safe path for the electrical current to travel to the ground.
